PostHeaderIcon Happiness Translated

My Friends, allow me to take a side trip, and have you meet a little girl and the Clown. Now this is from a German song. So bare with me as I attempt to translate, and paraphrase somewhat.

The following conversation takes place between the little girl and the clown:

Girl: “Dear Mr. Clown you look always so joyful, so happy.”

Clown: “That is makeup my dear child, and underneath there are sometimes hidden tears.”

Girl: “Tears when you are sad?”

Clown: “But not today, because you are by me, and wherever you are there is life.”

Girl: “Life? Tell me what is life?”

Clown: “Life is the time God grants us.”

Girl: “Has God so much time to give?”

Clown: “Oh much more than we think.”

Girl: “So that is life, and what do we do with it?”

Clown: “Life becomes better when we provide joy and happiness to others, and with every shared happiness life becomes much nicer, much more beautiful. I do everything my dear child to create happiness for people. I am always glad when someone laughs.”

Girl: “I would also like to do something like this.”

Clown: “Come, here is my hat, the red nose, and now you too can share with me what is life.”

And the saga is repeated again and again.

So my friends you be the judge.

What is the meaning of life?

What is the meaning of life to you, and what are you doing with it?

As for me I fully subscribe to this, and if I can help you get a little more happiness, a little more pleasure out of your life, than I have done my part. My only hope is that you will pass on the torch to your family, friends, and the world.
