PostHeaderIcon Should Have Let Sleeping Dogs Lie?

Day three and four at home in Macea the reality of life became clearer and clearer, my spirit got dimmer to the point that I got sick to my stomach. I had difficulty eating could not sleep, thank God tomorrow is Sunday.

Today we are all going to church, surely this will be the place my spirit will be healed. After all this is the place where I got baptized as an infant, here is where as a child had served as an alter boy, here is where my spirit grew up. This is where I climbed the bell tower to see the horizon of my life expand.

PostHeaderIcon No Bread, No Milk, A Changed World

The day of our arrival all my family and relatives came to see us, only one was missing Mama she has long since gone to be with the Lord. Today my wife our son my younger brother and I are going to see Mama at her eternal resting place. Seeing a likeness of her image embedded in her tombstone was a somber moment for me.

This was the image I remembered what she looked like the day I left home so many years ago.

As we all stood there each one of us in our own thoughts and prayers, a poem I have learned in grade school came to mind. The poem told about a warrior son after many years in battle returned home only find his mother has passed away. He too goes to visit his mothers resting place, as he stood there in silence with his head bowed for along time, suddenly in protest in a loud voice declares, ” No, this is not where the deceased rests, HOW CAN A PLACE OF SUCH CONFINE A MOTHERS LOVE CONTAIN.”.
